Different Types of Waste

Introduction

The types of waste that need to be managed during a disaster not only depend on the hazard itself, but also on the environment within which the disaster occurs (e.g., urban/rural), the emergency context, the needs of affected populations as well as the humanitarian response itself.

There are different ways to categorize disaster waste. Here, we cover the following types:
